EVHUB COMMENCES ELECTRIC BOAT SEA TRIALS WITH SAILORHUB July 2011
Now that Singapore has closed the water loop and harvests
every drop of water on the island we must take steps to
ensure that we keep our waterways clean, beautiful and
active! We think that replacing all those inefficient
marine combustion engines with powerful electric motors are
a good place to start.
Along with our marine partner, Sailor Hub, EV HUB has
successfully tested a 13kw AC outboard motor mounted on a
marine rib. Unlike earlier trials, this one used advanced
lithium batteries and was able to achieve over 8 knots in
open sea conditions loaded with 5 adults using at 48v system
at 5,000 rpm. We look forward to soon being able to enjoy
our waterways without the noise & diesel smells of
combustion engines.
