Converting a conventional vehicle to full EV is akin to
performing open heart surgery where the internal
combustion engine and related components are removed and
a full electric powertrain is implanted. evHUB embarked
on a conversion roadmap to gain an in-depth
understanding of EVs, their design engineering
requirements, functionality, limitations and strengths.
Phase I saw the equipment and tooling of our new
8700 sq ft facility where our vehicle conversions take
place. We now have the only certified Electric Vehicle
Conversion Facility in Singapore where we follow leading
conversion guidelines and standards.
evHUb currently has three entirely different full
EV platforms covering :
1. Light utility
2. Luxury sedan and
3. Performance sports categories.
These platforms take place
respectively on a Renault Kangoo van, a BMW 5 series
sedan, and a Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet.
We believe these platforms offer invaluable training,
testing, and showcasing opportunities for state
agencies, institutes of higher learning, and companies
who are actively working to develop and promote
sustainable transport infrastructure and systems.
Phase II of our research and development work
focuses on enhancing the performance of the vehicles. We
aim to provide an enhanced driving experience and reduce
‘range anxiety’ by integrating innovative
range extension technologies .
evHUB is a co-founding member and co-sponsor with
Singapore Polytechnic of the Singapore Cleantech
Community of Practitioners(COP) - comprised of
academics, government and non-governmental
organizations, EV advocates, industry representatives
from the electric utility and battery manufacturers.
evHUB is proud to share our platform and experience to
support all efforts towards sustainable transport
solutions.
Advantages of Electric Vehicles
|
Pure battery electric
vehicles offer significant advantages in the
areas of energy efficiency and
pollution-reduction as compared to conventional
petrol and diesel vehicles. |
|
EVs charged using electricity
from renewable energy sources like solar and
wind have virtually zero carbon emissions. EVs
charged using electricity generated from natural
gas power generation (as is the case in
Singapore)will also achieve some reduction in
carbon emissions compared to power generation
plants fired by fossil fuels, or from
conventional petrol engine vehicles. |
|
The EV motor system
(including its drive train electronics) is more
than twice as efficient as the ICE. It is also
able to recover part of the energy expanded
during braking in a process called regenerative
braking. |
|
Current well-to-wheel
emissions estimates from Original Equipment
manufacturers (OEMs) show about 66% reduction in
carbon emissions when switching from a gasoline
car to an equivalent-size EV.
|
Participate in
EV ownership as it is a visible proof of your commitment
to help clean up the environment. EVs produce no
emissions of any kind to harm the air, and virtually
everything in them is recyclable. Plus, every electric
vehicle conversion represents one less polluting
internal combustion vehicle on the road.
Electric
vehicles are not only the most modern and efficient
forms of transportation, but they also help reduce our
carbon footprint today!
